33 eFoils on the water at once: a record attempt in Gulfport
A group of eFoilers from Florida went for the world record 'most eFoils riding together' on 10 October. 33 boards turned up.
A regular Saturday ride
The Pag Dog Foilers ride together every Saturday near St. Petersburg, Florida. Not a one-off, but a fixed ritual. One of the riders calls it “church on Saturdays” in the video: everyone comes out and has fun on the water.
The record attempt
On 10 October the group moved to Gulfport with one goal: the record for the most eFoils riding together. 33 boards took to the water, and some riders drove for hours to be there. Whether the attempt was registered anywhere or recognised as an official record is unclear.
What stands out is the emphasis. The record was the reason, but the morning on the water together was what it was really about.
What does this mean for you?
You don’t need to break a record to learn something from this group. A fixed day and a fixed place turn a hobby into a habit, and riding together is more fun and more instructive than riding alone.
In the Netherlands we’ve tried to turn it into a weekly ritual too. That turns out to be hard. There’s no single central spot that’s easy for everyone to reach, and work and family make a fixed evening or morning difficult for many riders.
Still, small groups ride together regularly. Riders meet up in the community, and the spot map shows places near you. Want to set up a regular meet in your area? Share it in the Dutch eFoil meetups & events group, chances are you’re not the only one.
