eFoiling in 60 seconds

eFoiling is surfing on an electrically powered board with a hydrofoil underneath. As soon as you pick up speed, the foil lifts your board out of the water and you glide above it. You need no waves or wind, so you can do it on almost any lake, all year round.

Below 20 km/h

No licence needed. That is why schools put a limiter on the board, so you can take lessons without a licence.

Above 20 km/h

A small Dutch boating licence (CBR) and registration with the RDW. You get a Y-number that must be visible on your board. This also applies if your board is limited but technically faster.

Lake or private water

The manager decides. Some places are only accessible through a school or rental company. Ask beforehand, or ask in the community.

Where can I try it?

On a quiet lake, preferably at a school first.
